Our Mission
Serving Christ through the service of brothers and sisters
Since their foundation, the Servant Sisters of Mary of Douala have been driven by a single calling: to respond to Christ’s love by serving the smallest and most vulnerable. Inspired by Mary, Servant of the Lord, the sisters live their vocation with humility, availability, and compassion.
A mission focused on vulnerable people
Our mission unfolds across several essential areas:
- Education and training: supporting children, young girls, and youth in their academic, spiritual, and personal development.
- Health and well-being: assisting the sick, the elderly, and vulnerable families through care, guidance, and prevention programs.
- Solidarity and social assistance: helping orphans, women in difficulty, and all marginalized people, restoring dignity and hope.
- Spiritual and pastoral guidance: sharing the Gospel, guiding souls toward a fulfilling Christian life, and supporting the community in prayer and sacramental life.
Concrete actions in daily life
Each sister, within her community and mission area, carries out acts of service, charity, and education, inspired by the lives of Jesus and Mary. Whether running a school, managing a health center, supporting a family, or training new vocations, every action becomes a response to God’s love for humanity.
A mission that shines
Today, the Congregation continues to grow and adapt to the needs of the modern world, while remaining faithful to its original spirit: to serve with humility and proclaim the Gospel through life, prayer, and action. Each missionary is called to be a tangible sign of God’s hope and tenderness wherever she is sent.
