Historic Visit of Pope Leo XIV to Douala and Our Community

From April 15 to 18, 2026, Pope Leo XIV made a highly anticipated apostolic visit to Cameroon, marking a significant moment of communion, prayer, and peace for the country's Catholics.

Welcomed with great fervor in several cities of Cameroon, including Yaoundé, Bamenda, and Douala, the Sovereign Pontiff held multiple meetings and spiritual celebrations with the faithful. In Douala, in particular, his presence marked a significant stop at our community hospital, a living symbol of service and care for the sick.

📍 Douala: A Step of Compassion and Solidarity
During his visit to Douala, Pope Leo XIV met with patients, healthcare staff, and hospital leaders, in a spirit of listening, sharing, and comfort for all who suffer. This visit is part of the pastoral dimension of his journey: not only to celebrate faith with the faithful, but also to bring a message of hope to those experiencing the fragility of illness.

🙌 A Message of Peace and Brotherhood
Throughout his stay in Cameroon, the Holy Father made strong appeals for peace, reconciliation, and national unity, in a country marked by social challenges and tensions. In Douala, as elsewhere, he emphasized the importance of solidarity, justice, and respect for human dignity.
